A family in Tanzania rejoicing in God’s provision

A family in Tanzania rejoicing in God’s provision

9-year-old Hawa, and her parents Hussein and Elizabeth, give thanks for the provision of a new house. They praise God for an incredible answer to prayer.

A couple of years ago the family moved to Kahama, in the north west of Tanzania in search of work. Hussein was unable to find a job as a mechanic and was forced to take shifts at the local stone quarry. The work is brutal – long hours breaking stones, and for very little pay. The family began to struggle as the money wasn’t enough to put food on the table. Cramped into a tiny rented room, arguments began to break out. Hawa can remember regularly going to bed hungry.

The first answer to prayer came when Hawa was registered into the local Compassion project. “My daughter attended school regularly, and this improved Hawa’s educational performance.” Hussein explains.

The family were already rejoicing in God’s provision when another prayer was answered. Hawa’s new sponsor gave the family a series of gifts which enabled them to buy a plot of land and build their own house.

The first couple of gifts enabled Hussein to buy a plot of land and build one room. “We were so happy when we moved into our own house,” he says. “It wasn’t enough for the family, but it was our own home. Besides, it was a single room like the one we had been renting, and although we lacked a good toilet and bathroom, it was much better than continuing to rent.”

Then a further gift allowed them to complete the project. “We continued quickly to build the second room, construct a pit latrine for the family, and made the final finishing to the house with the walls and floor,” Hussein describes.

The whole family give thanks for God’s provision through Hawa’s Compassion project and sponsor. They give God the glory.

Father, we praise you for Your incredible care for this family. Thank you for providing for them in a time of great need. We praise You for Your generous heart.
