Please Pray in the Aftermath of the Uganda School Attack

Our hearts are heavy after hearing about the tragic attack on a school in the Nyabugando community, Uganda, on June 16. The loss of at least 38 lives, with others in critical condition and reports of abductions, fills us with deep sorrow.

We’re saddened to report that among those impacted were Compassion participants’ caregivers; four lost their lives, with one severely injured*.

As a result of this devastating event, we invite you to join us in prayer.

As we consider the grieving families and the needless loss of life, we ask God for justice to be done.

We pray for the wounded, for strength and restoration as they undergo medical treatment. For those who are experiencing profound loss, may the Lord’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds. May compassionate people come alongside those who witnessed the attack, providing the care and guidance they need to overcome this tragedy.

Finally, we pray for a lasting peace, not only in Uganda but throughout the world. May violence cease, and communities learn to love their neighbour as God commands us to.

Amen.

*Current reports suggest that no participants have lost their lives. If the child you sponsor has been impacted, please know our team will contact you.
