Hope Starts Here

Hope Starts Here is an interactive learning exhibit, celebrating how the local church is bringing hope to children and families in poverty.

It’s a brilliant resource that shares a personal perspective on the daily challenges of poverty. This all-age exhibit is completely free and gives visitors the opportunity to learn from the first-hand experiences of 12-year-old Blessing and her family from south-western Uganda.

Hope Starts Here is free for your event to host. It takes under 20 minutes to walk through the experience, and it’s our prayer that all those who visit will:

  • See how the local church is igniting hope in the life of children living in extreme need.
  • Witness first-hand the transformative impact of child sponsorship.
  • Be moved to respond by coming alongside a child in poverty.

Why host this experience at your event or church?

Hope Starts Here exists to help events and churches in the UK ignite conversations, demonstrate a commitment to biblical justice, and grow their community’s heart for discipleship, generosity and global mission.

It’s an invaluable resource for event or church leaders who want to:

  • Enable their communities to learn about on poverty and its wide-reaching implications in a new, interactive way.
  • Partner their event or church with the work of local churches within communities experiencing poverty in 29 countries.
  • Seek ways to demonstrate their commitment to biblical justice.
  • Inspire their community to adopt lifestyles of discipleship, giving and generosity.

What to expect

Hope Starts Here is made up of three inflatable, light-up domes, each housing interactive screens. All you’ll need to provide is a large indoor flat space with a minimum height of three metres and access to at least two plug sockets. Each pod height is 2.4m each. Each pod takes approximately seven minutes and can accommodate up to eight people a time.

Compassion will support you at every stage of hosting Hope Starts Here,  including an initial call to discuss the date of your event and all logistics.

When it comes to the event itself, our Compassion representatives will be responsible for setting up and running the experience, including managing any queues and the pack down.

Please note, we will need a minimum of three hours to set up and two hours to pack down.
