What should I write?

Saying goodbye can be hard but we encourage you to send a brief message rather than nothing.  Whether you’ve written a lot throughout your sponsorship or not, a word of encouragement will mean a great deal as the young person you’ve supported enters a new phase of their life.  Have a think about what you’d like to hear and send some words that will be a blessing.  You might include things such as:

• Remind them you care
• Commit to keep praying for them. Thank them for their prayers for you.
• Tell them you’re proud of them
• Encourage them to pursue their dreams
• Share a quote that inspires you
• Share a passage from the Bible
• Share a memory from your sponsorship – I love the photo of you when … or refer back to previous letters [you can find your photos and letters in your myCompassion account.

Just sending a short message of love and perhaps a recent photo of you would be a great gift.
