Advocate Network
Is God calling you to do more about children in poverty?
At Compassion, we know all our sponsors have a heart for the poor. But for some, sponsoring is only a first step. If you long to find other ways to improve the lives of destitute children then becoming a Compassion Advocate could be for you.
Who is a Compassion Advocate?
Advocates are sponsors with a heart for our ministry who volunteer some of their time to present the ministry of Compassion as a way to fulfil our Biblical responsibility to care for the poor. They do this in their churches and within their wider spheres of influence. We currently have more than 500 Advocates across the UK and Ireland and over 3,000 worldwide
What does a Compassion Advocate do?
Advocates use their gifts and talents to tell others, particularly the Christians they know, about Compassion. Being an Advocate involves taking and creating opportunities to introduce potential sponsors and donors to Compassion's ministry. Advocates may introduce Compassion to their church leadership, give presentations to church groups, chat to friends over coffee, put up posters and displays or write articles for church magazines.
Sharing your passion for helping needy children and mobilising others to respond can be tremendously effective and rewarding. It's something you can do no matter who or where you are.
