Why are the questions I ask in my letters not answered?
There are several reasons why your sponsored child may not respond to your questions in your letter, so we’d really appreciate your patience and understanding.
- Please remember your letters take a while to get to the child you sponsor.
- Owing to delays, there may be an overlap in your letters, so they may respond later.
- Projects often have a scheduled letter-writing day, and if they’ve taken their letter home to proudly share with their family, they may not have it with them when they write their response.
- It’s also worth noting that in some cultures, children may rarely be asked about what they think and do, and letter writing may feel unusual, meaning some children have difficulty in expressing their feelings or answering questions.
Drawing attention to your questions can help. You can draw attention to your questions by;
- Numbering your questions (1, 2, 3).
- Highlighting the questions.
- Keeping the questions short and simple.
Please persevere.
Above all, please remember that your letters of love and support are an enormous encouragement to the child you sponsor. Knowing that someone on the other side of the world is thinking of them and praying for them is a huge support. You can find more top tips on letter writing from our blog.
