In some circumstances, cash may be the most appropriate way to provide a Christmas gift. When this happens, local church partners and project staff will encourage families to use the gift in ways that benefit the child or young person directly.
Ultimately, however, decisions about how the gift is used are made by the child's caregiver. We recognise that caregivers are often best placed to understand their family's needs and what will most benefit the child at that time. In some cases, this may mean using the gift to meet an immediate need, such as food, clothing or other essentials. We believe supporting a family's most pressing needs can be an important way of improving a child's wellbeing and helping them thrive.
