The Indian government placed funding constraints upon Compassion from May 2016, preventing us from transferring funds to our local partners. As a result, we are unable to fund our programmes in India and have been forced to shut down.
Compassion is not the only ministry impacted. More than 20,000 NGOs have had their charitable registrations revoked and 300 face similar restrictions. You can find out more about our work in India.
