Young leaders from eight African nations gathered to dream, collaborate and make plans for how they can help shape the future of their nations and the African continent.

From 6 to 11 October, Compassion graduates from across Africa are gathering in Kampala, Uganda, for the first-ever Compassion Alumni Africa Leaders' Summit. Initiated by existing alumni network leaders, the event is being planned and led entirely by graduates themselves.
The Summit brings together alumni leaders from eight African nations. Participants include entrepreneurs, pastors, professionals, community leaders and changemakers who are making a lasting impact in their communities and beyond. Investing in locally led, church-driven child development can equip young people to become leaders who go on to transform their communities. This Summit marks a significant step in the growth of a pan-African movement with a bold vision: to see poverty overcome across the continent.
The aim is to develop a continent-wide strategy that will mobilise 250,000 Compassion alumni by 2035 and expand their collective influence across Africa.
By uniting voices and leadership from across the continent, the Summit seeks to empower a new generation of leaders committed to transforming their communities and contributing to a thriving and hopeful future for Africa.
As Compassion UK CEO, Justin Dowds comments “This is an incredible momentous week. It is such a joy to be here amongst those who have graduated from our programmes over many, many years. We’re so excited for what God has in store, what he’s going to do through incredible men and women who were a part of our sponsorship programme who have a desire to become part of accelerating life transformation for children who live in extreme poverty across Africa.”
Please join us in prayer:
Thank God for this group of inspiring leaders who are already bringing transformation and hope to their communities.
Pray for a successful summit, filled with creativity, wisdom and fresh vision as leaders explore ways to mobilise and equip Compassion graduates across Africa.
Ask God to broaden the influence and impact of the Pan African Alumni Network. Pray for graduates as they use their experiences, gifts and leadership to help transform communities across the continent.
