Are you ready for a life-changing experience this August? Volunteer with Compassion at Big Church Festival and enjoy the event for free as you introduce others to the work of Compassion.
Big Church Festival is one gigantic celebration of everything we love about the Church: joyful worship, ministry, fellowship, and life-changing encounters with God. In fact, it’s the largest gathering of Christians in the UK.
Join us from 27–30 August 2026 (you can arrive from August 26), at Wiston House in Steyning, West Sussex, as it comes alive with incredible worship and inspirational ministry led by the likes of For King & Country, Lauren Daigle, CeCe Winans, Lecrae, Rend Collective, Jake Isaac, Warehouse Worship, Bethel Music, Elevation Rhythm and more.
As a Compassion volunteer, you'll not only soak in every moment, but also help transform lives as you take the role of a child advocate for the weekend. Last year, we saw an incredible 773 children released from poverty thanks to Big Church Festival-goers coming alongside the church in the Savannah region of Ghana. And we’re so expectant for God to move powerfully again this August.

We’ll take good care of you
Whether you’re a festival veteran or a first-timer, we’ll take very good care of you. We recognise that your time is precious, which is why volunteering with us comes with fantastic benefits:
FREE Festival Ticket – Save £140 and enjoy full access to an incredible festival line-up!
Training & Support – We’ll equip you every step of the way.
Accommodation – A tent and camping bed are reserved for you. This year, we even have our own team showers and toilets.
Meals Provided — We’ll provide hot meals, snacks, tea and coffee.
Travel Reimbursement – Your UK travel costs are covered (car, train or bus).
Compassion t-shirt – A keepsake of an unforgettable experience.
There’s a role for you
In the Body of Christ, everyone has a role. It’s the same for Compassion at Big Church Festival. When we move with compassion, God can use whatever we have to give: our time, resources, smiles, conversations, and even our hands and feet.
You can join us as part of the:
Welcome team. You’ll greet attendees, spread the joy, provide directions, answer basic questions, and guide people to where they need to go.
Café team. You’ll serve refreshments and chat with visitors to ensure they have a truly wonderful experience.
Main stage invite team. You’ll support people during the key Compassion appeal moments.
Expo team. You’ll help oversee Compassion’s exhibition space and chat with visitors to our stand.
Storytellers team. You’ll get out and about around the festival site, sharing stories of transformation from Compassion’s frontline church partners in Ghana.
Whatever you do, you’ll be part of a team advocating on behalf of children living in extreme poverty.
Collectively, our impact is going to be HUGE.
Experience Church at its best
Big Church Festival is about gathering Christians to celebrate our shared faith, raise our voices in worship and experience the joy of being part of something much bigger than ourselves.
As part of this celebration, our role is to enable festival-goers to hear how God is moving in the Savannah Region of Ghana. Last year, thanks to Compassion’s partnership with Big Church Festival, 773 children were released from poverty. Jesus led, and festival-goers moved! Because of this outpouring of generosity, children’s lives are being transformed, families are being restored and whole communities are seeing change.
But the work is only just beginning! This year, you can play your part in sharing the amazing things happening in the Savannah region of Ghana by signing up to volunteer as a Compassion Advocate today. Get a taste of the inspirational stories you’ll be a part of by watching Julianna’s story.
More than just volunteering
You don’t need any prior experience, or even to be a Compassion supporter, to join us. In fact, it could be a great way to involve your church home group or fellowship as part of the event.
Who knows? You may discover a talent you didn’t know you had, make friends you never knew you needed, and have conversations you didn’t believe were possible!
