Pray in Thailand

Prayers For Elections

Take a moment to pray for three countries undergoing the electoral process. Lift up the upcoming elections in Thailand and the Philippines, and ask for peace in Bangladesh following voting in December.

Elections in Thailand

After repeated delays, elections will take place on 24 March 2019. These are the first elections to be held since a military coup almost five years ago.

Elections in Philippines

National and local elections will be held across the country on 13 May 2019.

Elections in Bangladesh

Voting for the Bangladesh National Elections took place on 30 December 2018. During campaigning there were reports of violent clashes and demonstrations.

How to pray for elections

Pray for voters

Ask for wisdom for voters. Pray they will be able to make an informed decision and won’t face intimidation, violence or fear as they go to the polling stations.

Pray for justice

Pray for fair and transparent elections to take place, free from corruption.

Pray for those in authority

Lift all those in authority, pray for wisdom for those entering office. Pray they will seek to act in the best interests of the most vulnerable in their society.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Pray for peace

Ask God to bring safety and stability where there is political unrest.
