Compassion UK and Premier announce new partnership

Sponsor a child

Today Premier, the Christian media group announced that Compassion UK has been appointed their ‘Charity of the Year’ partner for two of their radio stations – Premier Praise and Premier Christian Radio. This is the beginning of a vital partnership that will see the biggest Christian radio station in the UK highlight the needs of the world’s poorest children, sharing the stories of hope of children released from the cycle of poverty through the work of Compassion UK’s local church partners.

During the partnership, which began this month and runs until April 2022, Compassion UK and Premier Christian Radio will work closely together to strengthen the links between our two ministries. This includes 20,000 Compassion UK supporters now being able to access Premier Christian Radio via the Compassion UK app, which to date has been used to write and receive letters and photos from their sponsored children.

Compassion UK Chief Executive Justin Dowds says, “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to reach new audiences on Premier's stations, listeners who share our heart to respond to God’s call to love our neighbour and care for the poor, while unpacking the joy of sponsoring a child and enabling them to thrive.

“With so many wonderful Christian events and festivals postponed or scaled back this year, Premier’s radio platforms offer us a great opportunity to reach Christians across the UK in their homes and tell some of our stories of children’s lives being transformed in Jesus’ name. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for us to give more of our sponsors instant access to Premier’s fantastic programmes through the app.”

“I’m excited about the impact Compassion UK and Premier will make together – an impact that won’t be measured by pounds raised, but by lives changed through our partnership.”
