Togo’s in-country disaster team visited affected Compassion-supported children and their families at the beginning of August to learn more about their needs.
In total, one of our Church partners was affected and 28 Compassion-supported children too. Please continue to pray for comfort and provision for families who lost everything.
Field staff in Togo recently learned that one of our Church partners was directly impacted by the heavy rains that fell last week. All of their classrooms are damaged and classes are now limited because the children can now only meet in the chapel.
27 Compassion sponsored children from various Church partners are still affected. They are currently being supported through reimbursable RESPOND disaster funds.
Please pray for provision for the affected children, their families and our church partner.
Several days of heavy rains has caused flooding in the southern part of Togo late last week, destroying the homes of 27 Compassion sponsored children.
Staff from our church partners visited the affected children and their families to provide essential relief, such as food and clothing through the RESPOND disaster funds. Compassion Field staff plan to visit families by the end of this week. They also plan to request support from the RESPOND programme to rebuild homes.
Please pray for the families whose homes were destroyed. They had to leave quickly and are staying with relatives in neighbouring villages until their homes are rebuilt.
We will contact you directly if your sponsored child has been impacted.
