Refugee Week 2017

Refugee Week 2017

During Refugee Week 2017, and World Refugee Day on 20 June, join us in praying for displaced children and their families. 5.6 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide at the end of 2016 – a total bigger than the population of the United Kingdom and about 300,000 more than last year.*

“For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.'” Galatians 5:14

Take a couple of moments to pray for:

  • Children fleeing from conflict and persecution. Ask God to protect those making dangerous journeys.
  • Stability in the countries people are fleeing from. Although we don’t work in Syria or many of the other nations where refugees are fleeing from, we want to raise our voices in prayer. Pray for Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Somalia, Nigeria, Libya and other affected nations.
  • Pray for every child refugee and their right to be given an education and a safe place to live. Ask for God’s mighty provision for children who have lost everything. Pray for wisdom for governments and other agencies as they respond.
