Pray for Colombia following the referendum

Pray for Colombia following the referendum

Our colleagues in Colombia ask us to pray for the peace process in their country.

Last week, President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) leader Timoleon Jimenez signed a peace deal after four years of negotiations. However, in an unexpected referendum result, the deal has been rejected by Colombian voters. 50.2% of voters rejected the agreement compared with 49.8% who voted for it.

Please join us in praying for peace and stability for the nation of Colombia. Give thanks that President Santos maintains that the bilateral ceasefire will continue.

“Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2
