Update: A little girl who needs heart surgery

25 September 2017

The team from Compassion El Salvador are thrilled to share the news that Daniela has been discharged from hospital. The surgery went well and she is currently recovering at her grandma’s house. We praise God for her progress!

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34

23 August 2017

Please pray for Daniela's heart operation today. Pray that she would know God's peace, comfort and strength. Lift up the specialist surgeons who are carrying out the operation. May they be given great skill and wisdom. Please also remember to pray for Daniela's wider family who are very anxious about the weeks ahead.

"For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock." Psalm 27:5

17 July 2017

Our colleagues in El Salvador are pleased to share that Daniela had her check-up and everything went well. She has maintained the same weight and her open heart surgery remains scheduled for August 23.

Please continue to pray for this vulnerable young girl and her family.

27 June 2017

Please pray for Daniela as she goes for another check-up tomorrow. Daniela's mum continues to be very nervous about her daughter receiving medical treatment so please pray the family would know God's comfort and peace.

Daniela's surgery is scheduled for August 23, 2017, when specialist doctors are visiting the area with an American missionary organisation. Please continue to pray protection over Daniela’s health.

14 December 2016

The team from Compassion El Salvador are pleased to share that Daniela’s recent check-up went really well. Daniela now has a definite surgery date.

During the appointment, Daniela’s doctors went to great length to reassure her mum. They carefully and patiently explained the importance of the operation and the improvements it will bring to Daniela’s quality of life. Daniela, her mum and the project tutors went home feeling at peace.

14 November 2016

Compassion El Salvador asks us to persist in prayer for Daniela and her family. Sadly her mum is being reluctant to take Daniela to her Compassion project. The staff team are visiting her at home as regularly as they can to provide support, advice and encouragement. Daniela's health seems relatively stable but there are fears she is losing weight.

Please pray for Daniela's appointment with the specialist on the 28. Ask for God to bless the relationship between project staff and Daniela's mum. Pray for continued protection over Daniela as she waits for her surgery.

19 September 2016

The team from Daniela’s Compassion project are visiting her every week to check on her progress and provide nutritional supplements and emotional support. Give thanks that a major check-up has been scheduled for 28 November in preparation for Daniela’s heart surgery. Praise God that her mum is coming to terms with her diagnosis.

Nora Díaz, our Field Communications Specialist in El Salvador, has sent through an update on Daniela:

‚ÄúI recently spoke with Daniela‚Äôs project director who explained that Daniela will have another check-up next month because her mum didn‚Äôt take her to her previous check-up as planned. Daniela‚Äôs heart, according to the X-rays, is still big and requires attention. The project staff are doing all they can to convince Daniela‚Äôs mum that the surgery will help her but she is still too worried for her daughter to let her see the doctor. Project staff will go with Daniela and her mum to the next check-up to ensure they understand the importance of this surgery.‚ÄĚ

  • Please pray for Daniela and her mum during this difficult time. Ask for them to be given God‚Äôs peace and comfort.
  • Pray that God will calm Daniela‚Äôs mum‚Äôs fears about the surgery.
  • Lift up the success of the operation.

8 July 2016

Pray for four-year-old Daniela from El Salvador, who needs open heart surgery. Pray her pre-op check-up goes well, and that the operation is free of complications so she can heal quickly and get back to being a little girl!

‚ÄúBut he took her by the hand and said,¬†‚ÄúMy child, get up!‚ÄĚ Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.‚Ä̬†Luke 8:54-55
