Floodwaters in southeastern Thailand are receding, but families of the 39 Compassion-supported children are not able to return home yet.

Children and their families continue to receive support from the joint efforts of the local church and local authorities.

Please pray for minimal impact to the families homes, so the need for cleanup will not be overwhelming when they return home.

The rains in southeastern Thailand have now stopped, but the floodwaters remain. Children and their families continue to stay in temporary shelters and need assistance with food and household supplies. Our church partner is working closely with the local authorities to provide the necessary support.

37 Compassion-sponsored children have been confirmed as affected, including one whose caregiver sadly passed away.

Please continue to pray for all those impacted. Pray for provision for the family of the caregiver.

8 August 2017

Heavy rains in Ubon Ratchathani Province of southeastern Thailand caused flooding in areas near one of our church partners. Many people in this community live in low-lying areas near the river, and their homes were flooded. Thankfully, they were able to move their belongings before the floodwaters came.

30 Compassion-sponsored children have been affected. The church is working closely with the village and local government to provide support. These children and their families are staying in temporary shelter provided by the government.

Please pray for floodwaters to recede, so the families can return to their homes. We will contact you directly if your sponsored child has been impacted.
