Desktop Support Engineer

Use your IT skills as  our Desktop Support Engineer for the next year to support Compassion UK ministry to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

The Desktop Support Engineer plays a key role is this enthusiastic team, assisting just over 100 office and home- based staff with excellent customer service driven IT support.

Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent; MCSE trained or equivalent or at least 2 years’ experience in Service Desk/Desktop Support services; good working knowledge of current computer technologies including hardware and Microsoft software; good working knowledge of Mac OSX, iOS and support for Office 365; experience in supporting a Microsoft networked small business environment. Desirable: ITIL Foundation and experience of moving IT equipment as part of office relocation.

Job Purpose: The Desktop Support Engineer works within the IT Department to provide:
• Assistance to Compassion UK employees, both in the office and home based, through customer service driven IT Support - equipping them with the necessary IT resources to enable them to perform effectively including network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications and telecommunications systems.

Key Outcomes
1. Enable employees to perform roles effectively through the provision of IT solutions and processes;
2. Provide efficient solutions through innovation, research and implementation of new products.

This is a fixed term role of up to 1 year, office-based post working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00 – 17.00.  N.B. Please note we will be moving from our current Weybridge location to an office in Fleet Hampshire in June 2018.
