Something that hasn’t happened so far in any other town in the UK. And that is to join the HG1000 campaign to release 1,000 children from poverty and provide 1,000 families with life saving water filters.
Whether it’s through your church, schools, community organisations, businesses or individuals, you are invited to make a difference.
We are looking for sponsors for 1,000 children who are living in poverty. By sponsoring a child, you'll be ensuring that they will receive an education, healthcare, nutritional assistance and relational development through the Compassion programme.
Sponsor a child with the HG1000 campaign
Child sponsorship is a one-to-one relationship between a sponsor and a child living in desperate poverty in the developing world.
For only 92p per day, you can change a child’s life by providing for their core needs. You will receive a welcome pack including a photo of your sponsored child, have the ability to correspond with your child and learn about how they are progressing. You may also visit your sponsored child after a year of sponsorship.
Dr. Bruce Wydick, a professor of Economics and International Studies at the University of San Francisco has proven that it works! The research showed that Compassion graduates stayed in education longer and had better employment opportunities. They also exhibited significantly higher levels of self-esteem, aspirations and self-expectations, and lower levels of hopelessness. Read the full research >
Safe drinking water is a luxury that many people living in poverty cannot afford. To fight this problem, we’ve been raising funds to provide 1,000 families with a water filter.
We're overjoyed to share that we've reached our goal. We've provided 1,000 families with a water filter system that gives them safe water, for life. Proven and tested by doctors, each system is easy to assemble and maintain. A huge thank you to all those who have raised funds.
