Compassion UK is recruiting for a Development Report Writer to play a key role in the Relationship Fundraising Team. As a Development Report Writer, you’ll create engaging and response-provoking funding proposals and impactful update reports on Compassion’s interventions worldwide.

Location:
Office-based at Compassion House, Fleet, Hampshire.
Hybrid working is offered as a benefit with a minimum of 40% of hours in the office. A higher proportion of remote working hours may be considered based on a number of criteria, including a difficult or excessive commute

Hours:
35 hours per week over a flexible working pattern *This is a fixed-term contract which will end on 5 November 2024

Salary:
Starting Salary of £22,000 p.a.

About the role

You’ll be creating engaging and compelling funding proposals and reports on Compassion’s interventions being implemented across the world. This is an important role in the Relationship Fundraising Team supporting the work of our relationship fundraisers. It supports our work with major donors, mid-level donors, MPs, grant-making bodies, businesses and churches.

About you

To flourish in this role, you’ll need:

  • An active interest in development issues
  • A passion for writing 
  • An attention to detail
  • An ability to research development topics 
  • Degree standard working skills and / or the ability to show equivalent work-based experience
  • Core office / administrative skills

We need you to be:

  • Personally committed to the Christian faith. There’s an occupational requirement for the holder of this role to be a practising Christian, in order to promote Compassion’s ethos and help others to experience, explore, and express the faith-based motivation of our work.   • Deeply connected to Compassion’s ministry to children. 
  • Aligned to Compassion UK’s cultural attributes. 
  • A ‘people person’. 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Location & Benefits

This is an office-based role in our modern, ‘agile’ office with free parking, just a 15-minute walk from Fleet station.
