The economic crisis in Indonesia is affecting the lives and well-being of children. The cost of everyday needs is increasing, and the strain on the impoverished families is considerable. At the same time, the high population growth in urban areas is making it difficult for the cities to provide housing and social services.
Compassion’s work in Indonesia started in 1967. Currently nearly 40,000 children are helped through church-based projects. Most projects are on Java Island and the east islands of Java.
