Compassion cares for children even before they have been born and through their formative and most vulnerable years of life.

Each day 30,000 children under the age of five die from easily preventable causes, so our work needs to start as early as possible to ensure that fewer lives are lost.

Through Compassion’s Child Survival Programmes we provide home-based care for expectant mothers and young children. Staff from the local church partner will provide parents and care givers with nutritional supplements and advice, medical assistance, parental education and the social support they need to help care for their child.

The local church will be a base where families can meet together for support, training, Christian education and play.
