Megan Redwood

Hi my name is Megan, I am 20 years old and come from Taunton in Somerset. I work in the Debt Recovery Department of a Solicitors Office, a job I never expected to do but thoroughly enjoy.
This is the first time I have set myself a challenge such as this and I am counting down the days with excitement! A friend who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for chairty last year gave me this advice - 'I'm not going to lie to you, it is probably one of the hardest things you will do in your life, but its one of those mind over matter things, if you want to get to the top enough then you will'. I want to get to the top...so, meeting the students who will benefit from this trip before climbing will be my motivation to get to the summit!
Date of Trip: March 2012
I am taking on the challenge to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in March 2012 in aid of the wonderful work of Compassion. The money raised by the team will be used to enable 4 of Compassions students to attend university. We will pay for their education, support, living expenses, leadership training, and mentoring.
With this sponsorship we will make a huge difference in the lives of these 4 individuals and will open up so many doors for their future. These young leaders will be able to continue their education and training to become an agent of change for their community and nation.
Fundraising Target: £4,000
I know some of you may be reluctant to donate, and I completely understand. While you are all working or studying hard I will be enjoying lovely scenery whilst on a gentle stroll up a mountain, and I will be feasting on a lovely dinner whilst socialising with the Kenyan students. Thats what you may think... realistically, the students we are sponsoring have struggled all their lives to acheive their goals, but they still need Compassions support.
I, along with the other members of this trip, will be training hard physically and mentally for the trek ahead, reaching my money target will be the first part of the challenge.
However large or small the donation, every penny will help!
Please, have some compassion...
